I packed way too many outfit options for two weeks of yoga in Bali and somehow still wore the same five pieces over and over.

Here’s what actually made it into rotation (and what I regret bringing).

Okay so I need to talk about this Bali yoga girl thing that’s been all over my FYP lately. You know the videos, golden hour, someone walking barefoot to a shala with a matcha in hand, linen pants blowing in the wind like they’re in a shampoo commercial. I’d watched probably a hundred of these before I actually booked my trip, and I’ll admit it: I went in with main-character energy and a Pinterest board titled “bali fits” that my best friend still makes fun of me for.

But here’s the thing nobody really shows you in those videos, figuring out how to actually dress for 5 a.m. flows in 90-degree humidity while staying covered is a whole different challenge. I did a lot of trial and error the first few days, and by the end of the trip I had it down to a science. Sharing everything below because I wish someone had told me this before I overpacked my suitcase.

What I Packed for Two Weeks of Bali Yoga (and Actually Wore)

Honestly the biggest lesson from this trip was that less is more when you find pieces that work. Here’s what stayed in constant rotation:

I basically lived in my gym shirts the entire trip. Loose enough to move in, breathable enough that I wasn’t drenched by the second sun salutation, and honestly they just looked good in every photo my friend took of me mid-pose.

I’m someone who gets bored of solid colors fast, so my women printed gym shirts ended up being the pieces I reached for on the days I wanted to feel a little more put together, even at 6 a.m. They also hid the “I’ve been living out of a suitcase” wrinkles way better than plain tees did, which, if you’ve ever traveled with checked luggage, you know is a real problem.

One thing I didn’t expect to love this much: wearing women yoga shorts over my leggings instead of just leggings alone. It sounds like a small thing but it made such a difference in the heat, I got the coverage I wanted without feeling like I was wearing two full layers of tight fabric in tropical weather.

And on the days I was feeling a little more fun with it (usually after a good smoothie bowl), I’d throw on my women printed yoga shorts with a plain tee just to break up all the patterns.

Random side note, I also packed one halloween gym shirt because I wanted to get ahead on content for fall, and taking pictures in it against all that jungle greenery ended up being one of my favorite shoots from the whole trip. Not what I expected to be doing on a yoga retreat, but here we are.

I wasn’t planning on this trip turning into a whole brand crush, but here we are. Everything I packed from IronPandaFit just made sense for how I actually move, the fabric has this stretch to it that doesn’t ride up mid-pose, and it’s substantial enough to stay opaque without feeling heavy in the heat. It’s thoughtfully-made, not just cute-on-the-hanger.

  • The fit works with modest layering instead of against it
  • The prints actually look cool, not like generic activewear graphics
  • Everything survived daily wear, sweat, and sink-washing without losing shape

Would I do the whole Bali yoga girl era again? Absolutely. Would I pack half of what I brought? Also absolutely. But these pieces earned their spot in my suitcase, and honestly, in my regular closet rotation now too.
